My eldest is Graduating from Humboldt State this May. I wanted to have some fresh fish for the celebration on Sat.
17th. and get in some fishing.
I am not familiar with this area so any in put would be appreciated. Want to Kayak fish but not closed to taking a charter out of the area on the 15th or 16th. Thanks Frank

Only place I have fished up there is Trinidad. Always kill it there.

Arcata is only two hours from Shelter Cove.  The rockfish/lingcod opener on the 15th will likely see at least a couple dozen yaks OTW.

Eric, now that I am thinking aloud I may leave early and hit Shelter Cove on the way up.

Rob, I would think at the mouth of the Trinidad?

I'll likely be hitting Trinidad on Saturday the 17th.  Easy launch, great fishing, and they have a few charter boats as well (I've been on the Jumpin Jack a few times, a nice operation) if you wanted to hit them up.

Sat. is the Graduation otherwise I would love to hook up. Either way I am in for the 16th.
