Derrick Out-Fishes Danglin

No other way to say it, tough bite at the Berry today, but Derrick, one of our recent Nor Cal HOW recruits and new member to NCKA set the hook on this Puppy…

 We both had early morning commitments so did not hit the water till High Noon at Markley Cove…  $15 week days OBTW…  Pb's coming off the water complaining of a slow bite, I guess it did drop a little temp wise, but no worries, great day and were off… just get out of the marina and remembered I forgot my lunch… coming back half way throughout the boat marina area and all of a sudden there's a kayak fisherman there…  say hi, turns out it's new member, Jlewis, says "the hell with paying for launching,"  this animal packed in down from the road…

Strong Work Jlewis, we'll help ya find easier launches and have fun flying to Australia… wow, still can't get over that, guess your IFR… get yourself to the BSS end of next month!!!

Moving on, we hang together for a while and Jlewis is off, just wanted to get his maiden voyage out of the way,  Derrick and I basically pound the banks drop shooting, jigging and crank baits… damn slo to nothing…

  I look over to Derrick towards the late afternoon and his pole is doubled…  " I guess I got one…""  oh ya, nice thick female…  Photo, Release and fished till dark… definitely slower than the day before as Rob said he had 30 yesterday…  even bass boats were slo, fishing from  7am or so, were only scoring 7 to 9 fish…

But when ya get to Derrick's pic with his first bass and definitely first kayak fish…  That's a million dollar smile and definitely the start of the "Madness …"

Hahaha   Yep,    He's hooked..... and so am I. Thanks to Don.. that was the first fish i'm caught in more than 20 years or so. The curse has been broken!!!



Sorry it took a few days to start posting. Admin issues+midterm/s HomeWork= hard to post. Our little HOW event was just what i needed to clear my mind before midterms too.

Absolutely!!!  When are your finals?  Mine are every 3 weeks…     Anyway, were on for the BSS on Friday and Saturday morning right?  If ya don't mind driving down to Richmond,
we could do a Halibut outing before that.  I'm thinking of hitting the Honey Hole in my backyard…
