After fishing near the docks for a while. I gave up on trying to catch these fattie LMB's that you could see just hanging out in the shallows.  I decided to head out to the 5mph buoys for a bit of some trolling action.  I cast my line and began to paddle so I could make the turn around the buoy.  I felt a tug and initially thought I got snagged.  I started to reel in preparing for a little aggravation trying to break free. I reeled...tug...reel...tug tug...hmmm...I've got a fish!  Had a blast reeling in this beauty.  I didn't have my camera or measuring stick.  I was only planning on playing around in the am before heading home.  Lesson learned...  I hollered to my daughter and her friend and told them to head out the pier so they could snap a shot.  I had to paddle back one handed, gently holding on to my catch.  Estimated size 13" long.

Another exciting event happened during this trip, as well. I launched my Ladybug Rescue efforts, thus saving this gal from the lake. She was soaking wet and needed time to dry her wings before taking flight. I got to observe her unfurling her wings to air dry them and then soar away.  Glorious event to watch!   :smt055

The bass must have feasted on them already since they weren't interested in biting. LOL.  Catch and release!
