Troll shallow plugs for stripers. Water is muddy so look for clearer water. You can try around liberty island just north of the ferry to the left at the split. Be cautious as liberty is shallow. Few weeks ago there was a lot of striper activity due to plenty of baitfish in the water. All the stripers were on the surface. Didn't get touched on our bait on the bottom while sturgeon fishing. For bass there are only mainly red eye smallies. 1/2lbs to 2lbs. You can go up steamboat and flip tubes or throw a spinnerbait.

the weekend before last, my brother and I found some clearer water and fish in Little Potato Slough.  Not sure it that helps but, we caught one on a swimbait.  We fished the wrong tide (incoming) and left right after we caught that one keeper.

Good Luck!

Last year all the salmon smolt releases from upriver caused a striper feeding frenzy last April. Had a blast on top water and jigging. Anything blue and pearl or blue and chrome will work well when the water clears up. The pic I posted above the water was like dark ice tea back in February. Trolled for 2min and that 23" bass slammed my rod down. Notice it didn't get any hooks in its mouth. Right now there are a bunch of the 20+inch schoolies in the rio area. But there are some toads swimming with the schools. Next outing I'm going for sturgeon in cache slough. Last 3 trips I hooked up on both tides with eel.

The first batch left Anderson this morning.....
In the quiet of the morning some 420,000 Chinook salmon were loaded into three tanker trucks embarking on a four hour journey to the West Delta in Rio Vista.

Hey Mike,

I tried Sherman Island for a few hours on Sunday.  I found it skunky.

Water was very stained.  I hope it clears up for you.

Good luck,
Aaron
Take some, but save some for later.

Caught one 22" Striper on shallow diver silver with red head in the West bank area yesterday, marked lots of fish  (I was in my boat).
