Civil War Reenactment.  Jan and I went up to Knight's Ferry to watch the civil war reenactment this weekend. Saturday had Union forces defeating the Rebs in round 1, at the 4 O'clock the Reb's reversed and won handily, as NY Zouve's, The fighting Irish of the NY 69th, the 1st and & 20th ME did their best ot hold back the stem of the TN, TX, VA Militia's backed with with more cannons than the Union could muster (4 Guns to the Rebs 8 guns and several smaller mortars).  Kayakers were paddling down the river and got to see the battle up close, as Jan and I were strategically positioned to watch the 4 O'clock on slaught.  Having had ancestor's fight in the 2nd RI Light Artillery it was good to see the Union at least win one skirmish.  The kayakers may have been slightly hard of hearing after their time on the river Saturday.  Of note was watching the Rebel force had a breech loading Ordnance rifled cannon, rare by civil war standards, and even rarer by reenactor's.  I got to talk to some Union folks but did not spend much time with the Reb's.  Spent the night in Oakdale, went to dinner at the House of Beef and spent Sunday at BPS.  Great way to spend a weekend!
