So I recently purchased Google Earth Plus which has a wide range of additional features beyond the free version. Check out the attached .kmz file. It is an overlay of Berkeley Marina I added on top of the google earth satellite image. If you select the overlay and do properties you can adjust the transparency of the overlay to the desired level. This overlay includes depth, the shipping lane into the marina, obstructions and buoys. This is a pretty cool feature for the extra 20.00 or so bucks I paid for the Google Earth Plus. Basically it will let you import an image file and push and pull it around until you get it lined up to the satellite image. Very cool stuff here, next time I am fishing a place I've never been before I'll drop and overlay on it and have at least a good idea where to start.

Bill if you'd prefer to have these types of things somewhere else let me know. Maybe a sub section under places to launch and camp? Maybe I should have just attached it to the berkeley marina post? Anyway I wanted to let everyone know about this feature in case they aren't aware it exists.

Originally I got into fishing to fish.
