I was too lazy to put the kayak on the van and go anywhere so I decided to fish my backyard for bass. I used 4" Senko's and ended up catching 12 fish. Most of them were small but I ended the day with a decent bass(for an urban lake).

Man you must be rich.having your own lake in your backyard, nice!
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

HaHa I wish! I bought the smallest house on the block and it was during the housing market crash.

Too funny :smt044 I'm down for anyone to stop by and fish with me. There's 4 little lakes filled with Bass, Blue Gill, Carp, and last year they planted trout. Spring time is like a fishing arcade.

A Largemouth is OK, but are there any Elk left? It would be fun to bag one of those in Elk Grove, but I guess(?) there'd be too many school children near by?  :smt003

Nice catch!

I used to always fish the lakes in laguna for bass when I was way younger.  I kept a rod in my moms car specifically for that reason and always had luck with largies and even a few times got into some smallmouth that would be at home in a mountain stream.  I stopped fishing the are for years then came back in the summer of 2013 with some senkos, cast around for 5 minutes and spotted some quality fish that were giving chase to my baits, then a security guard walks up and commences to harass me and my friend about how we didn't live in laguna so we couldn't utilize the lake access.  We could use the parks, facilities but the lake was reserved for residences I guess.  I just agreed and have since never bothered to go back and deal with another similar situation but I'm glad to see there are some quality fish in there still.  Never knew about the trout plants.  I know channel cats were stocked way back in like 2010.  Did the trout ever take off or were they just eaten and added to the food chain by the bass?
