Was able to get out to berryessa today for some bassin in the mud. Headed out to Capell Cove and was met with some of the muddiest water that I have fished in a long time. I putted around for the first hour paying with my new fishfinder and throwing crankbaits. Got my fist bite on a 6 inch black/blue senko, a nice three pound largemouth in 10 ft of water. Went about any hour with nada, them picked up the shaky head. Ended the day with nine total, eight on the shaky head. The key was violently shaking the worm then pause/drag and repeat. Most of the fish came from the back to 5 ft. Didn't have the best rain gear on so decided to get off the water around 1:00. All in all it was a great day and awesome to not have to grind it out deep for a change.

Nice job Jake! We stopped there and then headed to the main lake. Slow but steady. Live bait.

I was there as well.  Agreed on the muddy water.  All artificial today with my best 20" and getting ready for a bed.  Caught on a magnum white fluke weightless in 15'.

I built a new fishing platform for the open bow and had to try it out :). The yak is not forgotten, I promise!  Just trying to let this knee heal up!

Nice!! Wow, I've never seen berryessa that muddy. At least the bite was good.

It was nice to meet you at Berry yesterday, and I'm glad you had a productive day.  I went from ramp to ramp talking to anglers, and by all accounts it looks like the kayakers outfished most of the power boaters.

Hey guys, thanks for the responses, it was a good day. Good to meet you out there ATD. Nice to hear the kayaks were doing well. Solid pics on the AOTY page, I'm gonna have to think about signing up for that.

Thanks for the great advice. Can you pic the lures you used too?

Take a look at the largemouth pic. It's a 3/16 shaky head with a 7 inch zoom trick worm in green pumpkin.
