need to smog my 2004 diesel with banks system

I've got a 2006 Dodge diesel and it's chipped, but the chip has the blessing of CARB, so I'm good there.  However, I modified the air box; cut a 4" hole in the bottom to allow more air in and plumbed a 4" ABS pipe with an elbow to route cooler air from under the front bumper.  Is that mod going to be a problem when I go to get it smogged?  I could remove the elbow so it doesn't show and the 4" tube running from the bottom of the air box down is black and near invisible in the blind area it runs through. 

(Sorry for the hyjack and to make up for it, I'll ask around here in the Placerville area about your concerns of where to smog.  Maybe there's some place up here that doesn't have a well lit shop and won't notice certain 'things'.)

Will be a problem.
If it looks clean enough maybe just maybe they won't notice.

I don't think jerry will have to smog it until he sells it. We don't have to smog every other year in the foothills. Only time I have to smog is vehicle transfer. 

I've had to smog this truck TWICE now, so I'm pretty sure this is going to continue every other year in El Dorado county.  Just 5 miles away in Amador county, they don't have a diesel smog requirement. 

 
  I think my truck is up for smog this year (Every 2 years?) It passed my first time, and the smog guy was a dodge owner as well, so he knew what he was looking at.  the last test he had to perform was the "Smoke" test.  The amount of smoke out the tail pipe had to dissipate with in X number of seconds and it was good. Seems my truck only smokes at altitude, like up in Tahoe. Otherwise I never see it smoke. Only mods I have are new air box and BD exhaust brake.

The headache is going to be that alot of smog shops are gana turn it away without a c.a.r.b sticker for the banks. Good luck bud the ca smog pragram has become a joke!!!!

Call banks they may have a carb sticker. I had to do that with my AFE air filter.

C.A.R.B sticker required but tech can still look up by part # on BAR website. Most Banks products are CA legal. On smoke test, black smoke cannot linger for more than 5 seconds and must not exceed x amount of feet out exhaust. I am a Smog tech on coast.What banks product you running? I will be happy to look it up for you.

 And as stated, CA emissions are out of control!

I have the six gun system for a 2004 6.0 turbo diesel. I think the guys at Left Coast Diesel will be able to fix the code and then i will take it to the smog shop and see.

The smog guy I used would not take the time to check it out he said to come back with a sticker. It would be a lot cheaper.
