Rat killer

Take  fallen oranges, partly open them and stuff lots of rat or ground squirrel pellets inside the sections. Put up high like in a gutter or somewhat the rats travel.  Let them eat those oranges

+1.  Once in a while, I see rats going to town on my fruit trees, particularly the peaches .  I just take all the partially eaten ones, put them in a bowl mix it with some DCON and leave it by the tree.  This seemed to work for me, no more half eaten fruits.

If you are open to other methods besides poisons or having to see them so you can shoot them I got one that works great.

I have dogs and chickens and don't like using poisons anywhere on property. 

I bought some heavy duty plastic rat traps that are bigger than the mice traps.  They will not rust and work great. 

I take a 2x8 piece of wood and screw several traps to it.  I put them in locations away from my animals and bait with peanut butter. 

Last time I used them I checked them in the morning and they were all full for a few mornings until there was no longer a problem.   The ones we had only came out at night and were big.  They could easily walk off with trap and have a better chance of getting out if not screwed to a board or tethered to the ground. 

One spot I set them is in the crawl space of the house and I tied a rope to the board and leave it sticking out of the entry door so I can pull trap out when it catches something.   

We are rat free now, but I still put new peanut butter on them once in awhile to see if more moved in.

Remember they eat car wiring too!!! This year has been bad! No food left in car... Poison blocks under hood... Last cost $800.00 to repair damage from 1 night!!!

Get 'em before they take over.  They'll hump themselves into a massive army if not kept in check ... like crows
