Lowrance Elite Series has the ability to do Insight Genesis, that's a huge difference for fisherman who want an edge. I am building new detailed 1' contour maps every time I go out now. I CAN'T wait to map some sonoma reefs this year, ya buddy!

But the regular Lowrance product is covered by 5 years

Don't get me wrong.  This is a great play on their part.

Of course ... where do you think those refurb units come from?

Surprisingly, most units returned aren't broken or defective.  They found that the greatest number of Problems came from improper install or accidentally being set in a wrong mode & not having followed the steps to reset The unit.  Followed by bad/broken transducer & corrosion.  I believe their current turn time for units sent in is under 8 days.
