Do you have to have your boat inspected to launch at camanche?
I'm thinking about hitting it up tomorrow

They inspect boats but I'm not sure about kayaks.

Here is the link.

I thought I heard it was 16' and the reason that sticks with me is because I was excited to hear that because it meant that I could launch my 16' Adventure.  Will see if I can find info on it.

How does an inspection work? Do I have to be there at a certain time? Does it cost anything?

I've never fished Camanche but if it's anything like Pardee, they make you fill out the form and then ask where you've been, like Jason mentioned.  They basically want to make sure that you aren't coming from a mussel infested lake.

At Del Valle, they have a designated area where they will open your hatches and check it thoroughly but I doubt you'll get that.

I'm not worried about the inspection but I was told there is some guy who has to inspect it and he's only there certain times of the day I just don't want to drive up there and find out I can't launch because I missed the inspection time for that day

Never fished the trout pond on the south resort side. I have fished the north resort area though. Just to fish from shore was pricey.

I was actually looking over Camanche lake info early this morning to check on all the daily fees. $16.50 to bring in your car and boat. Another $9 dollars to launch your boat and $5 dollars more to fish. I hope they don't charge for the inspection as well!

You better catch some trout because all the fees seem to add up fast.

Maybe they give a break for kayaks, I don't know.

Went up there last Tuesday cost me $12.50 to get in launch and fish for the day, don't know if they charged me to launch all I know is the chick said $12.50 and I paid it. You can launch up to a 12 foot boat into the pond but they did say my Kilroy coming in at a little over 12 foot was ok
As for the fishing I got skunked but from what I understand it had been a slow day for everyone at the pond

I've fished the pond a good number of times, just be careful when the shore guys are out, they will aim for you.  I no longer fish the pond because I don't like dealing with the some of the idiots on shore.  People on shore have no clue that their voice carries over water even when they are whispering.  They thought I could not hear them until I used their name, that is when they found out I could hear every word they said, including the bet they made to see who could hit me first.  Needless to say after we had a talk they said they were just joking, even after taking a couple very close casts to me on purpose.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
