I'd love to be without a cell phone but can't. Business,Family, Computer service all needed for what I do. So I guess it comes down to that! Been in area's where other service couldn't get out/in. Need reference from computer and able to do on beach in Kauai. Traveling through the Redwoods with reception.  Was with a group of guys in Sonoma Lake and I was the only one with an active phone.
I have to pay for the availability of service and that cost so I don't resent it we pay it. Verizon gives me the coverage and my dropped calls are from the other end, usually.

Had a conversation with a Verizon tower service guy today I saw out by my work.  They allow other carriers to use their towers BUT Verizon customers receive priority "useage" and they "throttle" the service speed/quality to other carriers.  In short, you get what you pay for.
