Had a coworker tell me Antelope lake up in Plumas Co. is a good spot to camp, and kayak fish. Anybody been up there?

I brought the family up there last summer and it was great. It is a super nice lake with plenty of different beach accesses.  We caught plenty of trout and bluegill. I hear there are bass in there also but we did not fish for them. Be careful wading around the tules and the mud because I got swimmers itch super bad and it sucked big time. Don't get me wrong everybody in the family went swimming but I hung out in the tules/mud fishing for bluegill and that was a bad move on my part...

I grew up in Susanville, spent a lot of time there since the sheriff didn't come up from Greenville too often and we could drink and generally make asses of ourselves without much fear of law enforcement.

Trout fishing from the rocks is great.

I go up there for work every now and then, but haven't fished it in a long time.  However, that lake has some amazing variety AND the fish can get really big too.  I've caught Eagle Lake strain rainbows, brookies, smallmouth, largemouth, catfish, pumpkinseed, and crappie from Antelope.  There are also some truly huge channel cats in there, over 30 pounds.  The largemouth can also reach impressive sizes.  It's a pretty little lake that'd be perfect for a kayak.

Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I should make a visit sometime this year...
