I am going up near Bodega next week for a camping trip and was planning on tossing out my crab pots, but I'm not sure where people typically drop their pots up there (I usually crab at HMB).  I was thinking maybe a 1/2 mile offshore just South of the jetty area.  Any suggestions?

anywhere outside and inside the jetty area, the further you go towards the golf course the better.

I've set up anywhere along the rock jetty on the beach side, just far enough to be out of casting range of folks fishing on the jetty rocks.  Check your trap every 30 to 45 minutes and if there isn't a crab or bait is unmolested, move further out  towards the end of the jetty and further out too.  You'll find 'em there.  You can go just about anywhere and find them I think out there.  I've done great on the inside of the bay right near the boat ramp even!
