Has anyone tried these boots?  They seem to be similar to the NRS boots an less expensive (on Amazon).

This is what I have:
http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-13/103284/Ocean-Quest-7mm-Premium-Super-Stretch-Titanium-Medium-Sole-Dive-Boots.html
I thought they were a great bargain for $30.

They worked for me last weekend in 38F water wearing thick wool socks in my dry suit. I was in the American River walking, wading and swimming.

Do they keep your feet dry when you launch?

Dude, they have no zipper.
they are difficult enough to get them off with a zipper and these ones have no zipper, no thanks.

Apparently none of the waterproof paddling boots (NRS Boundary Shoes (boots), Chota Mukluks, Kokatat Nomad Paddling Boots) have zippers either; the ads don't mention having zippers and the photos don't show them.

The Ocean Quest are scuba boots and they get wet a little bit. Not a big deal for me that they dont have zippers, they're realtively soft uppers. Not sure which NRS boots you're referring to, so no comment on them.
