I just got it back from a warranty repair and used it up at Albion. The volume had been going really low after using it a while. It seemed fine Friday and I turned it off after I finished. I got home and put it on the charger and it turned on. I thought that was strange and wondered if I had left it on. I tried to turn it off so it could charge and I can't turn it off. I press and hold the power button and nothing happens. If I pull the battery it goes off. When I put the battery back in it lights back up and turns on. My HX150 will not do that if the battery is unplugged while the unit is on.

Anyone ever heard of this problem? Anyone have an HX851 that can have the battery pulled while turned on to see if it turns on or stays off when the battery is reinserted? I've contacted the same person that helped me with the first problem and so far all he has said is it worked fine before he sent it to me. I'm stumped.

I guess it doesn't really matter after all. I realized that it also doesn't transmit or receive. It's busted, again.  :smt009

I have the 851 too, haven't heard of this problem happening yet.  How long have you had the radio for?

I had it a year before the volume issue and one week before this new problem.

They had repaired mine and returned it to me. The original problem was intermittent so I'm not sure if it was truly fixed or not. They told me they replaced the GPS unit to fix a problem of intermittent very low volume. It worked for one day at Albion. After that I left it in my truck while we camped in Boonville Friday and Saturday. It was hot, but we were parked with afternoon shade. My fish finder was left in the truck with no problems. I don't know if the heat damaged it or if it just failed. After Albion I didn't use it until I got home and plugged it into the charger and it was malfunctioning immediately. I sent it back to them and I got a replacement radio today. They didn't tell me what the problem was, but I guess it doesn't matter since they replaced the radio.
