Just picked up my first kayak, it is a used ocean kayak prowler 13 in red.  Now I am thinking I should take a safety course as I have not been in a kayak for several years.  Definitely need a PFD and some paddle/rod leashes.  We shall see how she goes, mostly a bass guy, but might try out the salt.  I just read some of the encounters with great whites some folks have had and I am worried about having a red yak LOL.  safety lesson first, does anybody have a good place to take a kayak safety course cheap/free on a week day?

Congrats on the new boat. You're gonna love it, I'm sure.
The kayak shop in Jack London sq has classes, check them out. They've got a good selection of gear too. Sadly, they don't offer a NCKA discount though. I've also found, if you go with a buxom friend, they give much better service.  :smt003
I try to get out to the arw every weekend; at least until SPR opens back up. So, hope to see you out there.
Cheers and have fun.
