I know Braid is more sensitive but it floats, wondering if this affects the fall rate.

You need a "whatever is on the rod at the time" category.  I don't have a a true dedicated Senko rod, but the rod that gets used for that duty the most sports 20 lb braid mated to a 4-6 foot long 20 lb fluorocarbon leader. Otherwise, Senkos go on mono.

I've always used braid with senkos, but that's because I like to throw them right into the weeds and tulies. As far as the line floating goes, I have never noticed a problem with braid. Also, mono is fatter than the braid and would offer more water resistance so I'm not sure that there would be a significant difference between the fall rates of mono vs. braid with a senko tied on.

Mono is less visible. I uni knot mono to the end of my braid. I'm not a fish, but I can see braid in the water, plus the mono has some stretch when you set the hook.

Mono has more abrasion Resistance. I like to throw sencos in tight to cover.

Why just last night, I used my drop shot setup (6'2" clarus medium light rod, Sedona 1500 reel and 4 lb Yozuri hybrid) to land a 19" bass. 3.5-4 lb range probably.  Bait was a weightless 6" Texas rigged Senko. This combo also picked up another smaller bass later. I just happened to be using the rod that was loaded with braid/fluoro to fish a jig/beaver combo. When fishing the jig, I really like the extra sensitivity of braid. Senko takes tend to be much more authoratative, so that even weightless, its easier to feel when a fish is on.

So, like I said, I fish a senko on whatever rod/line combo is available...

braid has a thinner diameter so its rate of fall is faster then mono, i use braid with a fluorocarbon leader

I'm not sure that I believe that diameter is the only factor that will affect rate of fall.

When I'm float fishing for steelhead, I use braid because it floats and I can mend my line better.  That leads me to believe it is more buoyant which would make it fall slower.   ... i think ...

Braid with flouro leader has been my go to for most stuff, but the flouro hybrids that sink are what pros are using. Fewer knots, fewer chances of a break off on a money fish.
Like Scott said, you get a better feel with braid especially on jigs when the bass are taking it soft (pressure bite) ,but its hard to see when they take it on the fall.
With senkos if you use mono or hybrid you can adjust the fall with a nail weight in the middle to keep the level fall. Or you can wacky rig and weight the nose for a headstand presentation. Thats a secret trick! :smt003
