Newbie - close to HMB

Hi All,
I'd like to say I just got my kayak but its been about 2 years and I am finally getting around to making my first post!
Hi to all the NCKA people!
I've met a few guys that were really helpful in getting me in the water.

I just met Jon fiver. Thanks for safety tips.

My first outing was yesterday in HMB - got there early. Turns out sunrise was at 7:30am - solstice made it the shortest day of the year. Just my luck. Ended up with no crab - fishing close to the jetty.
No fish - trying for perch and Cod.
Nothing.
Tips?

Welcome to the madness. 

  It was great meeting you at HMB.  I know you've been lurking and reading up on the boards for a bit, so the best thing now is to check out the hookups section, meet people, and get out there with the guys that know the area.  If you do that, you are guaranteed to get to know quality people, and get some quality seafood!
