Fish Junky and I headed to Bodega today to try for some crabs off Doran Beach.  We checked NOAA last night and were expecting 5-10 knots decreasing by noon.  We found “Blow-dega instead.  South at 16 knots and gusts somewhere north of that.  For our first try at yak crabbing I prefer a little better WX.  It was a nice ride in the country though.  We will get to try out kayak crabbing………just not today!

The beach looked a little rough.

This is where I planned to launch.

This is as far the boats got to the water.

Helluva drive to find that when you get there.  :smt009

Oh man... and I wanted to meet you! The sight I checked said it was going to be rough...

Thanks for the report kokoloco.  You made a right call.

Glad you had a nice drive and spent some good time with Fish Junky; very smart to avoid the temptation to launch when it didn't look right to you. Next time  :smt002.

BTDT many times over the years, get a good breakfast somewhere and go home and get some yard work done so it won't be on the list stopping you from going next time.
