Tried posting this earlier, but didn't go through...so a bit late.

Spent three hours OTW at Muir last Saturday. Had my very understanding fiancé drop me off, as the parking lot still isn't finished. No real parking back there and gotta respect the local community.

Brought out two hoop nets and left the trap at home. Baited with squid and mack. Wanted to keep it simple and do some fishing between pulling hoops.

Three male Dungies and a decent rock crab for the day. Tons of egg bearing females out there. Threw them back of course. Musta tossed back between 30 and 40. Stopped counting.

Great day out there, despite the wind coming up a bit. Of course it dropped off when I was packing up.

For those wondering, the new re-open date is Dec 28th. Pushed out three times. Spoke to a member of the construction crew who said they just need to pave the lot, but needed two days of 65 degree temps. Sounds like a stretch back there this time of year. Anyone here know about paving/temps?

Josh

Glad you figure out how to get out there. This is one of my favorite places to fish and crab. I can't wait for the parking lot to open. When it does, would be great to get to out there with a couple people.

I'm sure asphalt can be done colder. But maybe those guys do not have the equipment to Keep it hot to roll it. I have seen pavement while traveling being done when cold. But maybe I'm all wet.

Sounds like a Muir Beach hookup is coming! I'll keep an eye on the progress and post up when it looks like it's a go...If we get lucky and we open on the 28th, then maybe the following week? Weather/conditions permitting.

Yeah SeaWeed, hard to believe they couldn't pave it in lower temps.

Looks like great conditions out there other than some wind. Thanks for the report.
