At first I thought it said "indestructible" and I'm like "Oh yeah?" (that has long been a challenge between me and my best friend...) Great series, very clear instructions

Couple changes I made on that same design, I slid pool noodles over the support arms, I made one arm longer than the others so I could grab it with one hand and position it while holding the kayak in the other hand.
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Thanks!  I've been very frustrated with my Hobie kayak cart.  It requires I darn near flip the whole thing over to get the arms up into the skupper holes, either dumping all my gear, or unloading then reloading in order to get the wheels on under it.

I think I'll use your design to modify the cart I now have to make it more useable.

That's funny!  I though I was the only one that did that!   :smt044

I just built this cart. The only thing I did different was to use a 5/8 wooden oak dowel as an axel. Drilled a hole in each end for a cotter pin and I only have to remove one wheel and I fits inside my bow hatch.

Oh yea... I didn't out the handle on it.
I didn't use PVC part "E"'s
Cut a second PVC part "C' and glued the entire bottom assembly together cause I didn't use a threaded rod.

Works great so far.

Nice Cart!!! I'd set out last year to make one of my own that could double as a fishing crate for the rear compartment of my OK Prowler 13. In short - took a large rectangular milk crate (not square!) and shaved some 'V' shapes out of the plastic that looked like the same shape as the bottom of the kayak. Cut some spare scrap metal from an old IKEA bed frame and drilled holes to tie them to the top of the roughly cut plastic & secured w/ zip ties. Each side of the top got fitted w/ segments of Small Pool Noodles, and the ones on the long sides got doubled with segments of Large Pool Noodles. All secured w/ zip ties. Also put in 4 small cylinders of PVC pipe (drilled holes to also secure w/ zip ties) for holding rods/nets/gaffs, etc, which are low enough to not interfere w/ it's use as a cart. Added a piece of ply wood underneath for strength (helps it FLOAT!), secured w/ short bolts and big washers, and used random Hardware store trinkets to fashion a clamp for an axle. Stainless Steel stuff to pro-long salt-water corrosion. U-bolts w/ wing nuts that I can loosen (but not have to remove) to be able to slip axle in & out. Cheap tires, drilled some holes for the clips, and carry a few extra parts if I lose anything in the water/beach. Couldn't have cost more than $50 total, and has been AWESOME! Still enough room to slip a small ice-chest into the cart while on the water. Would be nice to fit some Wheeleze wheels to it for some better traction in the deep sand. While on the water, tires and axle fit in the front hatch of the prowler. A little design help from the Drill Sgt, a retired engineer.

Aroneus, nice design man.  Put a milk crate/dolly together as a Bday gift for my son.  Only difference, I drilled axle holes in the bottom of the crate since I didn't have u-bolts laying around and old garden hose as a edge guard.  Tossed in a cam-buckle strap and it was set.  Thanks for the idea.

Nice design. I did same, but used some left over stroller wheels which are about 14" diameter, so the whole thing is higher in the air and the wheels probably won't fit in a Hobie porthole.

Now if one of you clever designers will come up with a diy solution to kayak saddles for yakima racks. Don't want to spend the $189....

Great ideas anyone?

I just finished this cart for my Kayak a couple days ago. Since I have a sit in side and not a sit on top i had to be creative with where I put it once I got to the water.
