Basspro had that model for $99 after rebate, I think it was a deal they had pre-black friday. If she managed to scoop it up for that price then it's worth every penny. There is a rebate on most Lowrance models purchased in December so make sure that you get that rebate. Lowrance is updating their lineup so that's the reason for the discounts and rebates on current models. The new Elite 4 and Elite 4X models have HDI, a bigger 4.3" screen and a higher resolution so for anyone who is thinking about buying a Lowrance be sure to double check pricing first and get the most bang for your buck. As far as the rigging goes I rigged mines up on the 8 AA connector, light and cheap, gets about 8 hours of use. They say to use 18 gauge wire for all power connections so that's what I used. 3 amp fuse was a pain for me to find since it was out of stock everywhere I went, finally found one at O'riley auto parts. Good luck on the install.

If you go with the 10 AA's, you can get rechargeable ones and a nice charger at Frye's.  The 10 battery carriers are usually not available at RS, best to order online or you will end up soldering an 8 & 2 together, not worth it.  Order a couple of tens online.  There used to be a list of preferred suppliers somewhere in the forums.  Not sure I would do it this way today with so many other battery options.  That being said I'm on my third set of rechargable AA's.  Whatever you do use a 3 amp fuse, buy extras, and pack up the extras with your finder or power source.
