Welcome to NCKA Bill.  PA is a great fishing platform but a beast to haul around.

You're right, the PA is hecka heavy!  Anyhow stopped at Kayak City after work and bought a Old Town Predator 13 in camo.  I think this will be a nice first kayak for me.

They're putting on my accessories an I'll pick it up on Saturday.

I can't wait!  So if you see a guy with a Predator 13 out at the port in West Sac, it's probably me.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I'm getting a PFD when I pick it up and wondered if you gûys had any recommendations?  I'm also planning on a Hummingbird fish finder. It not sure which one to get.

Thanks.

I would try on kokatat, NRS or Stohlquist. Those tend to be the most used PFD's on the site. The main thing to look for is that you like the fit, because you will be wearing it for a long period of time. Try them all on.
