Fished out of a float tube, upgraded to a pontoon boat and now researching a kayak (hobie). Love the site...learned a lot just lurking. Looking forward to meeting you guys on the water soon.

Welcome aboard Darren. You'll definitely appreciate the kayak more coming from the float tube and the pontoon. You can fight the wind better and cover more distance. The hobbies are great kayaks but there are others as well that you can choose from. I'd say demo as many yaks then go from there.

Been kayaking for years. Started with white water, then ocean and lake, then kayak camping lakes of the Sierra's. Started kayak crabbing this year. Have been to Doran twice, and HMB twice so far this year. I have met A. Sea at HMB, and look forward to meeting more of you.
