Congrats on the nice score O2B!

Made the deal a couple weeks ago but the fleet dealer hinted at additional savings on Black Friday so he stashed the truck away and put the keys in his desk...sweet !!

Working in Emergency Managment, Black Friday videos of people acting like fools climbing over each other, trampling people to death, and fighting over things. It really scares me that these companies take their employees holidays, turns them into something so ...inhuman, then stand back and watch year after year with inadequate security.  It makes me think we are not so far from the savages we rose from.

I think it totally depends on the retail store.  I will say, standing in line for a little over an hour at Home Depot, I got to know those in line behind me quite well.  Fact, most of the pople I saw knew each other & it was really a social event more than anything.  Wasn't a single bit of pushing, shoving, etc.  Everyone strolled in at a walking pace & EVERYONE I saw there for that 30 minutes got what they came in to buy.  Having been to several B.F. events in the "home improvement" marketplace, this was the first year I saw these level of stores stock up in higher volume for the events.  Went back later that evening & they still had at least 90% of the B.F. Add items in stock.  I could only find 4-6 of the items no longer in-stock.

On the flip side for department stores, I agree that a very small few DO take it over the top.  Think this holds true to almost any event; sales, sports, etc...  It is only brought to light by the medias need to show THOSE few instances over, say, the others who are there to buy gifts for charity.  Sad how acts of kindness aren't always newsworthy.
