OK, so I'm sad.   :smt010  I've been up here in Humboldt County for three weeks now, but I have to head back to L.A. tomorrow a.m.  I got in some great fishing on the Humboldt Lagoons, tasted my first dungeness crab cooked on the beach  :smt003  and had a wonderful time with Loleta Eric on the Eel one afternoon where I learned my hobie does just fine on those river conditions.

But I'm also happy.  :smt001  When I think back on it, its all the great folks here on NCKA some of whom I've met in person -- fished with -- … it's where I lurked until I bought my first kayak, learned about little things and big things, had folks "hold my hands" when I drilled my first holes in my kayak … I've met some great people here and on this web board. So on this Thanksgiving weekend, I am thankful for all the great folks I've met, either in person, or corresponded with on NCKA.  Thanks to all you incredible folks here, past and present. (RIP Mooch).

If you see me headed south tomorrow, HONK!.  I will be on 101 until I get to the Bay, then 580 to I5 to LA.  You can't miss me, a Yellow Hobie on a Black Prius.

Hopefully, I'll be back up soon! (in a month?) --  :smt006

I'm hoping to be on the road out of Arcata/Eureka area at 8 am … If everything goes smoothly that should put me in the BAY area around 2 pm.  If I don't spend too much time at Berkeley, I should arrive in LA between 9 and 10 pm.  It's a crazy drive, but then I never claimed to be sane.  (Last weekend I drove to LA on Saturday, then back up to Humboldt on Sunday!)   :happy2:
