OK guys

I searched for info on what wetsuit I might want to get for Kayak fishing. It didn’t help this thick skin much… I have a “back-door” (no not that) angle in getting O’Neil wet suits and that is the route I plan on going. I just don’t know what type of suit to get! I don’t plan on free diving in it; all I want to do is fish in the suit. I am reading about farmer john type suits, but has anyone used the suits with thicker bodies and thinner leg type suits (i.e. 3/2 or 4/3mm)? Nobody in my area has this type of suit as I know and I cannot afford to dump the cash on something that will not fill the nitch if you know what I mean.

Thanks Orion

I use a cheap 3/2 full suit that I got when I lived in San Diego and used it there for winter surfing.  Anyway, it's not stretchy like some of the newer better suits but I've never had a problem with it and it keeps me plenty warm while fishing.

I have a newer 5/4 full suit that I use for surfing up here.  It's very nice, very stretchy, but far too warm to kayak fish in.  (works great for Ab diving though).

Anyway, I think a nice new stretchy O'Neil  3/2 full wetsuit would work be an improvement to my own system.

The 3mm Farmer John is what a lot of people seem to use. I use this http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&productId=47897288&parent_category_rn=4501480&vcat=REI_SSHP_PADDLING_TOC and it suits my needs. I spent a couple of hours testing its warmth capabilities in a surf zone class a few weeks ago and am very happy with it.

I use breathable waders! I hate wetsuits...
