abalone card for minors

Anyone buy an ab card for a minor?  I tried to buy one today but was not able.  Ab cards are linked to fishing licenses, but I already have one associated with mine.

Yes, and I didn't have any trouble at all doing it.  I took my buddy's kid out.  I linked it to his father, who doesn't even have a fishing license.  Worked just fine.

Do you remember the process while buying?  Maybe the Big 5 employee needs to be taught how to sell it.

I don't. I got it at pacific outfitters in Eureka.

I got one for Kris A couple years ago before the change out. Curious now but will have to wait till next year.

The sales agent at the RWC Big 5 just didn't know what he was doing.  Went to the Big 5 in San Mateo and was able to get it.
