I've fished Meadow Lake three times.  Very nice place.  I hope to go back in early September.

The first time two summers ago the fishing was on!  Lots and lots of Lahantan Cutthroat trout.
Second and third time up there (the third time was this last July) the fishing was no good.  Not one fish.

Here is my theory:
I think the lake was stocked before I went on the fist trip for two reasons.  First, there were lots of fish.  Second, the type of fish, Lahantan cutthroat trout, are not native to this lake (it is hydrologically impossible).  Then, in my opinion, the lake proceeded to get fished out, which is why I did not catch anything my last two trips up there.

In short, there is not one fish in Meadow Lake.  If a fish were present, I would have caught it.

Have fun,
Sean

Only times I've been up in that area, I was on the "Sierra Trek" heading up the fordyce trail.  Been on it 5 times in the past. (25yrs of wheeling experience with my CJ-5) Please take care when you go off road on that trail, (if your in anything other than a rig thats set up for knarly rocks!)  Not knowing what your off road experience is, I can only offer these words of caution.   Be carefull!  Good luck with the fishing!
