I have been thinking about checking out HMB for a while. Just have not worked up the nerve. While I have been fishing in the SF bay on a kayak many times I have not fished the open ocean before. I was wondering what kind of gear I would need? Do you anchor up, drift, or troll? Anyway, depending if I have the correct gear I might try to join you. Also what kind of terminal tackle do you use out there?

Launch pushed back to 8:30 or 9am.

You will need standard salty safety stuff.  PFD  Wicking under clothes, wetsuit,
 VHF radio

Tackle at least 15lb test 3 to 4 oz jig heads shrimp flys, plastic swimbaits, and some squid as bait if the bite is cold.

Water, snack, paddle you know the drill.  You have to have self recsue down, that's on you.

The old ship pier is west of princeton by the HMB yacht club

PEACE
