New GoPRo Hero 3+

Thanks for the info Howard, but I don't know?  I'm just not seeing it.  25% more battery than the Hero 3.  What's that an extra 5 minutes?  They need to vastly improve the battery life for the Hero 3.  I almost prefer the Hero 2 to the 3 because the battery life of my old Hero 2 was better.  Don't get me wrong, I love my Hero 3, but I wish they could do something about the poor battery life.  I wish they would also make a camera with interchanging or varifocal lenses.  Guess I'll have to wait for the Hero 4.

Bret, perfectly happy with my two Hero 2 units. Just wish I never bought the remote unit (rarely use it).

Yeah I haven't really used my remote either, but I have used the remote app a few times.  It's nice for changing the settings on the camera quickly.

What do you guys think I don't own a go pro but was getting ready to pull the trigger on a hero 3 should I not overlook look the 2 what cha think

I bought a 3 last year at Christmas time.  Remote looked like a "must-have".  Truth is, never used it.  Just sits in the desk at home.  I guess if I mounted my gopro where it was looking at me, out of reach, then the remote would be nice.  Haven't tried the App yet.  Bought the extended battery pack.  Works ok but the life still sucks.  Found out you can't extract the images through the battery pack & charging the whole system, thoroughly, requires removal of the extended battery. 

I think if you already had a hero2 there would not be the need to upgrade but buying new I would get the 3. The 3+ doesn't have any must have features for me.

IMO, having the remote unit built in adds to battery drain. For my purposes, the extended battery pack for the Hero 2 work fine. Then again, I have six batteries for back-up.

I've found the extended battery pack is a must have for the Hero 3, especially if you use the wifi.

I have the Hero3 and like using the Android or Apple remote wi-fi app on my phone or iPad to adjust settings and preview videos.
