Well, I've not that much to report, I'm sorry to say.
 - 1 short halibut (released) and 2 (woo-hoo) lizards.

It was REALLY FOGGY ---  I fished the "inside" at Cabrillo Beach

My friend, Ike, was there and we both took our time getting OTW, hoping the fog would lift. We finally launched at about 7 am.

It was so foggy that I decided to stay near the ramp and fish plastic until it lifted a bit.    YAY!! -- I am the Lizard King

This is "Greg" from XTREMELINE - He was wandering around in the fog, too!  He's the guy that sold me my hobie three years ago.  We figured the visibility at about 100 yards, based upon the buoys we could see on the buoy line.

At about 10:20 I found my way to the bait receiver, got some squid, and was promptly stopped by the Port Police.  They wanted to know if I had a sound making device so I gave them two loud toots on my whistle (around my neck) and they were satisfied and told me to "be safe".

Qu'est ce que c'est ???   Le petite Halibut!!!!  (released)

And I met two brothers, Peter and John.  And yes, they were fishermen.

At about 11:00 it cleared near the ramp but stayed very foggy out in the channel. All the little sailboats came out and the traffic was -- well bizerk.

The wind increased as it usually does, and by 1 pm it was more than I wanted to deal with.   I gave my remaining squid to "mike" who was in an inner tube.  He had made his bait with a sabiki early that morning from the pier and was delighted to get the squid.

And I lived to tell another boring story to you all.    :smt006

Nothing boring about that, Dave.  Well done - you GOT a halibut!  That's a great trip and more than I have accomplished with that species - be glad for the validation of hooking and landing a short anyway!  Sounds like a great trip, and way to go for having your whistle at the ready.   :smt001

I encourage you to continue your reports.  They've been informative and entraining too.  The best part is your positive energy for the sport and your involvement in it.

I enjoy reading fishing reports especially the ones with pictures.  Thanks for your report Dave.
