My name is John and have been a long time off and on lurker.  Starting fishing again in summer and really have the envy bug for all of you posting your kayak adventures in our local waters.  I don't have much of a budget right now so I'll have to continue to salivate seeing kayak reports.

Love and really enjoy this site so thanks to all of you.

Welcome aboard John.  I'm sure many of us here will have a "buddy yak" available if you want to join in local hookups.

Welcome, John.  Do what you can to get on a yak - even a little cheap one to start off will get your Madness rolling.   :smt001

John- what are you doing on the 29th?  If we can get one of the brethren to offer to 'buddy" with you, I'll lend you the equipment to go out kayak fishing for the day.  then, you can join us for the Derby BBQ, meet some peeps, tell some lies, and get rolling.  My treat for your Derby Entry.

I'm gonna blush at the generosity Bushy - you guys are so generous and its much appreciated!  It's my wife's birthday so if I go I might be divorced the next day   :smt009

When exactly is the derby - might be good to just hang out and get a feel for the whole scene and the idea of getting in the water of all things.

Derby is the 29th weigh in ends at 1pm at the Kayak connection Shop at Santa Cruz Harbor. We'll have dogs and sodas and probably some grilled fish to eat as well.
