The crane out in the bay is quite a sight.

I learned about this while I was at the harbor master's office getting my parking pass for the trip to Sacramento on Wednesday.

If you want to minimize the impact of the permanent marine reserves that are being created and will reduce, forever, the places that you can fish in the ocean, please see my post under politics and send a note to the commissioners who will make the final decision on how much of the coast to close.

Argh... That probably would have made some nice habitat.

I was shocked when I found out that CA did not have an artificial reefs program. They have very successful ones in FLA and TX. In TX it is mostly oil rigs but in FLA they will take all the bad stuff off old ships and go sink them to build reefs. I wish someone had guts to take on the radicalized enviros to push this through. It makes so much sense which is why it won't pass.

There is one called CARES...they have gotten chased out of every PFMC meeting I have been to when they attended.  The are sponsored by the oil industry, but have credible experts such as Milton love.  They want to lay the platforms on their side when the de-commission, but all of the enviros insist on full removal, despite all of Milton's data.  They see it as giving the oil industry a free pass...I see it as free habitat...but I am always alone on this issue.  :smt010  I see their point, but who cares if the fish love it.
