Rockfish season north of Point Arena

I just looked at the rockfish regs and it appears that the season north of Point Arena is open until October 31st. That's later than usual. Can anyone confirm?

Nope. Pt arena to Horse Mountain is Sept. 2. Horse mountain to Oregon border is Oct. 31.

Northern, north of Cape Mendo is open till Oct 31.
Mendo, point Arena to Cape Mendo open till Sept 2
SanFrancisco, pigeon point to Point Arena till Dec 31

Yup yup.  That early closure for Mendo made us change our schedule for a Shelter Cove trip.  Really surprised me the season would be closed so early in that zone.  If you're going north of Pt. Arena after Labor Day weekend, Trinidad would be a good option for rockfish.

anyone know the logic for the early Mendo closure? I think last year it was even mid-August when it shut down.

Cape Mendocino is North of Horse Mountain so it is open til 10/31
