Whats up everybody. Pretty stoked to be on here finally. I'm still very new to kayak fishing but I love it. Recently moved back to Sonoma county so that's where I do most my fishing. Thinking of heading out this weekend from Doran beach and trying to work toward the head looking for some rockfish. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm fishing a 2 person ocean kayak that 12' and I've got most bases for tackle covered. I'm not sure about the recent closure but I've heard there is a restricted area off there. Stay safe out there.

Picked up an underling on 7/29 on the inside of seal rock let it go...dont do to much rockfishing there...its either Salmon or crabs that im after at Doran... you can catch a lot of different fish around the jetty...Dustin caught a monster Ling off the jetty...good luck snap some pics...even if you dont Get Some the journey is what its about!!!

Welcome.  Just moved back to CA and joined the forum, so I can't offer much advice, but maybe we'll bump into each other out there.

There are some great threads on safety for the salt since you are relatively new and I suppose you could probably pick up some advice from old reports somewhere around here about rockfishing Doran.

Have fun, be safe and catch some fish out there!
