On sat 8-10 my friend Ryan and I made our first Nor Cal kayaking trip. We've fished Santa Cruz a lot for smaller fish but now we both live in Sonoma county so this is the new turf. This was also our first time going to Fort Ross so we had no idea what to expect for launching. It was so easy I couldnt believe it. After a late start getting a license for Ryan and some bait in Jenner, finally We got on the water. Pretty  late start @ 9;30. Got out and rigged up with swimbaits under shrimpflys and  first drop I hooked and land a 24"ling. over 2.5 hrs we landed another 22" ling, a nice cabby, 3 nice blacks, 3 nice gophers and a small black & yellow. Ocean was like a lake, no wind til' 1pm that pushed in some fog. Had an amazing day out there, the scenery is un-matchable out there and the fishing was just as incredible. Still trying to get the pics from email to here.
