Hello from Prunedale

Just learning about saltwater fishing as I am transplant from GA. Went fishing for bass,brim,and catfish as a kid in GA and then while stationed at Ft Campbell Ky did a lot of bass fishing (some times Gar for fun) on Lake Barkley and Lake Kentucky but moved back to GA and started hunting and gave up fishing.
Five years ago moved out here for a job and love the area.
Turned forty this year and had an episode with some high blood pressure, high tri's, and high bad cholesterol. Job and diet induced, I swear the alcohol helps clear the blood but the doc and my wife disagree.
So my wife suggested since I like eating fish so much and fishing use to be relaxing for me I should look into shore fishing.
Been fishing a few times but not catching on the shore so I decided I would look around and see what else was out there.
Kayak fishing seems like exercise and fun wrapped up in one. Would love to talk to some local guys to discuss and learn gear and technique.

Welcome aboard Coby65    I was on medications for high cholesterol and pre-diabetes  but after 6 months of kayak fishing my doctor said I no longer need the medications.  I live in Prunedale too so PM me on weekends if you want to go yak fishing and I have a spare kayak if you don;t have one yet.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have two person sit in kayak that DW and I have used in the slough a few times but nothing I would take out on the ocean.
I will drop y'all a line and see if we can talk. All the different styles and types of kayaks makes this confusing along with all the different gear for fishing.......and don't get me started on CA fishing regs........Army regs were easier to read.
