My Road to Albion... hurdle #1

After hassling with my FF at BSS3 and GS, I finally took the time to perform "Open Wire Surgery" on my kayak...

What I thought would be a simple fix replacing the corroded power connector, turned into to ripping out the whole power cable from the head unit to the power connector; and after numerous soldering, wrapping and heat shrinkings of connection, she's finally got pulse!!!

FISH BEWARE!

now on to hurdle #2

For a second there I wondered if you had any wiring left according to the first picture .  I guess you should now be called Dr. Frankenfishfinder

Been playing with 12v electrical wiring fro decades; use to install custom audio/video stereos back in the day....

Actually had to replace the entire wiring; the male pins in the connector, which connects to the head, had major coorision. Was not salvagable... Had a spare that I was gonna put on my Mini-X; guess I need to install a different unit for that....

hehehe Just put this in today with Navionics

Your Nav maps look way better than mine. I have older version. Maybe that's the dif?

I have had a new FF for 2 years and haven't installed it yet . Always seems to be something more important going on. Only have a few more day until Albion.
