I'm on a budget and would like to find a working fish finder for the kayak. Anyone have one for a reasonable price?

Also any recommendations on a FF for lakes, ponds and such? I mainly fish the Sacramento area.

I found a FF posted on a different website & I haven't heard back from the OP who listed it. It was a Eagle Cuda 168 for $40

Hopefully I can't find one before the end of this month.

Thanks.

I just put a lowrance X4 on my Scupper Pro and have been pretty happy so far. About $78.00. The only issue was making an adapter plate so I could use a Scotty Piranha FF mount.

Craigslist usually has some cheap deals pop-up.  All though, if all you need is a FF, a new unit can be found for under $100.  Don't forget to consider the cost of a mount, battery, wire, connectors, etc...  Those few parts can sometimes add up to as much as a "value priced" fishfinder unit .... or more!

As for mounts, I'd highly consider spending the money on a RAM mount.

Check with local home alarm company's 12v 7-8 ah battery's are standard backups for a lot of home systems. They need to be replaced when the date on the battery is getting close to exp. since they are on a constant maintainer  the battery's are still good. You may be able to get them for free. That's how I got mine.
