This has been covered before, see, for example post #25 on this page:

But, I just want to add my $0.02...

It's a tight fit, but the scotty flush mounts did fit on my new Adventure. Interestingly, the kayak is not symmetric---it's a tighter fit on one side than the other (i.e., the rail is narrower), and the plastic is way, way thicker on one side.

On my kayak, the tubing that covers the up/down lines was _very_ short (like about 2"), so I replaced both with longer tubes (about 10" or so). It's not too difficult to replace these tubes and it might be worthwhile, since the lines can otherwise rub on things. It would be nice if Hobie used slightly longer tubes here in anticipation of people making this mod.

One other thing to note is that it's a very difficult reach on the "down" side. I had to completely remove the center hatch just to get an extra inch of reach to get the nuts started. I'm 6' 1" and have long arms, so I don't know how a shorter person could manage it.

Anyways, I think the final result is a nice clean install that looks like it belongs on the kayak.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

I did an install at tthe same spot on my AI this past weekend except I put on a 4" Yak Attack Gear Track & 1.5" RAM Ball.  It's a little reach to get there I agree.....
