Kokanee help

This weekend i spent alot of time trolling kokes an it seemed like my catch rate was maybe 25% on hook up. I use leadcore on soft tipped trolling rods and i dont work horse em in. I think the worse part is when u real up to the flashers or dodgers an when u go to net them they death roll an slowly swim away. Im running double wammy mack wedding rings behind flashers or 2 hook hoochies behind small sepa dodgers. I thought maybe some ball bearing swivels and the snubber cords might help. Any help would be great thanks guys.

Personally, I fight them for just a bit, then kinda whip them in. I have the net ready and when I know there close rip them to the net. I use a seven foot ultra light Koke rod and 8 lb mono main line. Takes a lot of the hook ripping out of play. When I do it this way they don't have time to realize what's going on.

Agree with Rob 100%.  I use 6 lbs on ultra light Koke pole to pretty good effect, but know you will still lose some. They are tricky lil'bastards and no one lands them every time.

One thing I find makes a difference is kill the speed once you hook up.  It can be hard if you have 2 lines out but it will increase your chances of landing them.

Derrick is using leadcore so a ultralight pole is out of the question, I seem to have a better land ratio but than again after fishing with Derrick, he has a way higher hookup ratio than I do so maybe I never notice most of my hookups and lose most of the fish with out even knowing I had one on, so when I do notice a fish on he's solidly hooked to begin with.

It's either on or off. No nibbles really, just grab and go. Hard to get a short strike with two hook rigs. One should be hanging behind the bait an inch. 

He needs to get an ultralight and just use a three way with weight or down rigger and get rid of the lead core. Soft rod=fish landed.

  Sorry guys....  I'm not catching any at the moment (For a while now) I have to live vicariously through others for the time being.  I did mention "a Decade" ago.  (Didn't have a down rigger then either)

we use light koke rods with leadcore....I find consistent pressure is the way to land em on that setup....steady reeling till its time to net 'em....
