Leffingwell is Sharky so if you got a shield use it. It gets a ton of pressure so I prefer San Simeon. Decent Hali fishing in the bay and shallow water structure. Can be surfy but usually not bad. A pretty scenic paddling area too.

For eating, Mo's BBQ in SLO, Linn's in Cambria the West End Grill in Cambria. If you want to eat a huge piece of meat, go to Jockos. It is south of Avila. Linn's has the best chicken pot pie and alleanberry pie in CA.

Wow, great info!  :smt001 Mitch now has training tomorrow so now we are leaving Monday afternoon, which means Wednesday and Thursday morning fishing trips. As soon as my wife heard that she added to my honey to do list  :smt009 which is ok because I am banking my W&F points for some other trips.  :smt003

Oh yea, if you end up near montano de oro, and you are a fan of thai food, look up a place called "Noi's" in Los Osos.  Mmmmmm.... I can taste it now

+1!

Whether or not you end up at MDO, check out Noi's. Excellent hole-in-the-wall Thai spot with tasty food made fresh to order right in front of you. That was my go-to spot after a good surf or fish session in the Los Osos area.

I scanned the F&G regs and was looking for any special regs that are dif than up on the north coast. Is there any hook or other restrictions that we should know about?

Not that I am aware of.  No more than one line in the water at a time and no more than two hooks per line.  2 lings max.  10 rockfish limit.

Not sure where you are planning on fishing on Wed., but I will be at Leffingwell early a.m.  Trying to launch around 630 or so, with a couple other buddies.  I'll be on ch. 68 or you can give me a call.  805-748-6002  Hope to see ya!

Thanks Eric... we will proabably try to crash your party and tag along if that is ok. Might have to give you a call to find specifically where the launch is. Do you use swim baits or bait? With iron do you need to remove the treble and replace with a single hook? Once again thank you! :smt006

Call anytime and we'd be happy to have you guys come out with us.  More the merrier.  I usually use swimbaits out there, had good luck with rootbeer color.  Also have had success with tossing spoons, hooked a very large ling on a spoon last year.  As far as I know no problem with trebles, thats what I run on mine.  Never had f&g blink an eye on those.  Give me a call sometime tomorrow and I'll point ya in the right direction for the launch.  Cheers!

Great trip with Mitch and my youngest Sam to SLO country this last week. The campus is awesome and we loved  the town. We pigged out on tri-tip sandwiches at Firestone downtown (of course, I had to sample the local brew...love the 805! and DBA!) A big thanks to Eric and Chad for letting us tag along out in their backyard playground. Although we did not catch a lot, it was great to be on the water! Final score: Mitch: 1 small black, Sam: 1 small black amd released small cab, and for me: a nice verm and two released lings 21" and 22". Great to be out on the water! And now no chance for water therpy for about two weeks! ugh.

DrDave, glad we could hook up with you guys, sorry the bite wasn't a bit hotter.  It was good to meet you and your boys.  You have a couple of good kids there.  Nice to see.  Tell Mitch to give us a shout if he wants to fish when he gets to Poly  :smt001  Take care.  Eric
