I'm going to Lake Tahoe in early July and was wondering if I needed to get my kayak inspected to paddle on the Lake.

I'm pretty sure you're OK unless you're powering it with a 2-stroke motor!

Looks like the kayak/canoe program might be a voluntary one. Check out this website:

Thanks for the website I checked it out, watched a video, and got certified as a Tahoe keeper. I'm always willing to do my part to help the environment.

I was there on Saturday with Becky, Sara and Chadrock. We launched from Cave Rock without a problem.
When I got back a guy on shore asked if I knew that I needed a $10 sticker from, I think he said, Nevada Fish and Wildlife showing I passed inspection.
I told him that I didn't need a sticker. He said it was a rule but it's not enforced.
Kind of like the Clear Lake thing?? They don't still do that do they?
So I asked how they could even enforce such a thing since it's a dual state lake? I can launch pretty much anywhere on the lake and if California doesn't have any rule like that then how can Nevada?
He had no answer. Cool guy though. I wasn't doubting him. I just cannot see how they could possibly enforce something like that.

Thanks for the info Tote!
I'll check into that. I'll be launching from Eldorado beach on the CA  side.
