I've started doing some googling n such on 4WD accessible campgrounds near fishing spots, rivers or lakes in NorCal.  I got White Rock down as a possibility up near Truckee.  However, I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions or things to look at I'd appreciate the hookup!

Three lakes which is near Bucks Lake.  Haven't been up there in 20 years.  The road was always rough, vehicle clearance was a must, but didn't need 4x4.  We'd fill the canoe with our gear and go camp at one of the other two lakes.  For us the middle one always fished the best.

Yeah, what's your confidence level, or experience off road, If your vehicle is a stock 4x4   some places that get listed may be out of your and your vehicles capabilities.(We don't know)  I'm not saying this to be a AH, I've got 20+ years of rock crawling in my not stock CJ-5 it's long paid for and I don't care if a boulder crushes a fender.
Main thing is to only do what your comfortable doing.  Have fun, let us know where you go and how you do!

White rock is cake,I got a 2 two wd Tacoma in there with  a lil work!
I like lindsy lake or car and feeley lake, mostly because a short hike and you can get into some nice trout fishing.
White rock  creek is epic,I use a stick with a 5x leader tied to it with a black ant or skeeter, for piles of small brookies! When you turn off of meadow lake road, if you take the first right, it will take you deep down to a few nice spots to camp along the creek. Meadow lake is nice as well, and you can take back roads all the way to hwy 20, long but fun!

I was going to mention Meadow lake, but have never fished it.  Just camped at it for the yearly Sierra Trek 4X4 run that's held there every year.  You'll notice a cement pad has been poured, that's for the bands to set up on.  The trail starts at Cisco Grove and climbs up to Meadow lake, through a series of 5 "Winch hills"  crossing Fordyce creek along the way.  A stock 4x4 will definitely have issues on this trail.
