Heading with the family next month. Looking for any advice on stuff to do (or avoid). I am going with a buddy and his family so FISHING will happen. Any boat recommendations? Are they options for boats other then a $700 charter? Do the have a Hawaiian version of a Panga?

Thx all in advance!

Hey pm me if you want to go with Andy Cho he's doing some guiding now. Kau Grown has posted videos on here and is his partner and good friend. I think either will take you. I hooked up some monsters fishing with them. Wish I would have landed something. Andy is really nice and was helping me the whole day. Rob also was super cool.
Andy's catches this year. You have ti sign up I'm sure to view the site.

They have share 6 pack charters for $100-150. Call in Your first day to check availabity. I went on share 6 pack (sea witch?) run by a couple of home boys. Had a great time. They let you keep the fish unlike Maui. South Point is sketchy kayak wise.

Before you book a charter
check the web reviews (yelp, trip advisor)
Ask about any other costs (bait, fish cleaning)
Ask if you can choose the target species
Ask how much of the fish you can keep.

I am not into Marlin so only go on boats willing to target tuna, wahoo and dorado. The Linda Sue 2 has low rates but mixed reviews. The kona foodland market has really good poki in case you don't get any tuna.
