Got to the launch at 5:30am. First one there as always it seems. Paddled out to where I've hooked some nice sized lings. It was a nice morning. Swells were pretty good sized 3-5'. Wind was pretty laid back. Hooked into some rippers but just couldn't get them to the kayak today. Landed one ling about 26" or so and kept 4 nice sized blues. The blues were all rather girthy. All in all about 25 caught and released. On the way back in I was in some serious swells and side slop. White cappin and putting the kayak to the test today but its was all good. Made it back inside the cove safe and sound and with a S SE wind blowin pretty strong it was a breeze to make it back to the launch. It was nice to meet some more folks today. Hope y'all are having a great weekend and Good luck. The only fish pictures I took is this one. Waiting to be beer battered up

Big south swell often make the fish hide in the rocks.  Looks like you found the fearless ones out and about.  Good Eats!

That I did however had to drag bottom a lot today. Lost a bit of gear but that's all a part of the game of seek of the hidden. Holding on to a grip of kelp was to difficult in that swell. Contemplating tomorrows adventure

Tough conditions for you on Saturday, Lipripper.  I was kitesurfing at Carmel Beach in the south winds that afternoon from about 2PM - 4PM.  I was riding my smallest kite, and still had trouble managing some of the gusts.  My guess is that the winds were averaging 23 - 25 mph, withs gusts to over 30.  Oh, and a south swell running at 4 ft @ 18 secs, too.  Really fun afternoon for me, probably a lot of work in a kayak.  Glad you hung in there and got some good fish!
