Hey everyone,

So I finally convinced my buddy to get a yak. We're on a budget of around $600. I'm thinking he'd be best off with a Wilderness Tarpon or OK Trident/Prowler. Not looking for anything too fancy. He ships to Camp Pendleton on September 9th, so I just want something to get him out everywhere I fish, including the salt. Also, if anyone has a XL-XXL 3mm cheap wetsuit for sale, that would be great too.

Thanks,
Connor/Ronnokk

Connor,,
This is a great boat for a decent price.

It's a virgin and has the Tupperware style hatches. Rock solid boat that year.

Thanks for the suggestion Rob, I sent him a PM.

Since you're the Wilderness expert, I guess I should ask you if you think the boat is salt-worthy without the rudder installed?

I never had a ruder on my '06 which is identical to that boat. No need to add a rudder in my opinion. I got ruder on my new one because I use it for shows and needed it loaded with options. Also, if I sell my '01 Tarpon my wife will shoot me because she does like the rudder. That is another reason I got the new one with rudder. Proper paddling technique will be all you need on that boat. It turns fast if you know how to do it.
